A Message from THE PRESIDENT
of The MMSA |
I am very proud to be The President
of The Middlesex Masonic Sports Association (MMSA). Sport has a
lot in common with freemasonry as it brings together men of diverse
cultural and religious backgrounds in an environment free of bigotry
and discrimination. Through sporting activities the Association raises much needed funds for various charities. Many of these charities are not Masonic charities. For instance the Association has, for over 25 years, been a charitable sponsor to Wheelpower (formerly the British Wheelchair Sports Association (BWSF). We have provided support for Wheelpower athletes at the last five paralympic games and in October 2007 we presented a cheque for £12,500, supporting the next paralympics at Beijing in 2008. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate MMSA members on their achievement in donating over £225,000 to various charities. I am also very happy to see freemasons enjoying the sport or game of their choice within the Association whilst continuing the tradition of fund raising for those less fortunate. |
